Ontario Trillium Benefit

A monthly payment that combines three Ontario credits — for energy costs, property tax or rent, and sales tax. You get it just by filing your taxes.

Who qualifies

  • You must be an Ontario resident who pays rent or property tax, or has home energy costs, and files a tax return.
  • It combines the Energy and Property Tax Credit, the Sales Tax Credit, and (in the north) the Northern Ontario Energy Credit.
