Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH)

Monthly income, plus health and other benefits, for Alberta adults with a permanent disability that seriously limits their ability to earn a living.

Who qualifies

  • You must be 18-64, an Alberta resident, not yet eligible for OAS, and have a permanent medical condition that substantially limits your ability to earn a living.
  • Your income and assets (generally under $100,000, with exemptions) are assessed, including a partner's.

Good to know

  • AISH includes a health benefits card (drugs, dental, optical) and can be combined with the federal DTC and Canada Disability Benefit.
