Canada Training Credit

A refundable credit that helps cover tuition and training fees. Working people aged 26 to 65 build up $250 of room each year to use later.

Who qualifies

  • You accumulate $250 of room each year from age 26 to 65 if you have working income and file taxes.
  • When you pay eligible tuition, you can claim up to half of it, limited by your accumulated room.

    Your available room is shown on your CRA My Account and on your notice of assessment.

    Claim it after paying tuition

    When you pay eligible tuition or training fees, claim the credit on your tax return.
