Affordable Child Care Benefit

Monthly help paying for child care in BC — daycare, preschool, before/after school, or a licensed home. The amount depends on your income, family size, and type of care.

Who qualifies

  • Your family income is generally $111,000 or less (higher for larger families), and you use an eligible child care provider.
  • There must be a reason for care, such as working, studying, looking for work, or a medical condition.

    Your provider confirms the care

    Your child care provider confirms the arrangement so the benefit can be paid, usually directly to the provider.

  • Families earning about $45,000 or less usually get the maximum. It often stacks with the Child Care Fee Reduction at participating providers.
